Kia ora,
What an awesome start to our journey of setting up Impact Hub in Waikato!!
Thank you to those attended our first stakeholder engagement workshop on the 8 Nov. Thank you also to our enablers, Trust Waikato and Wintec. It was electrifying to see the energy in the room, with social enterprises, businesses, community organisations and government agencies all engaged in conversation on the cross-sector collaboration.
A fundamental question we asked everyone was “why”. Why Impact Hub? Why are you here in this room? Personally, I was inspired by the depth and variety of answers to that question. Many different reasons but all congruous to the idea of making a positive impact on our society.
The workshop represented the essence of Impact Hub where there are no silos, no barriers and no limitation to what we can achieve as a team.
During the four-hour workshop, we unpacked the concept of the Impact Hub and discussed the key activities, milestones and stakeholder roles.
Feedback from participants has been extremely positive, and there was a high level of commitment to the concept. Following the discussion on the overall structure and roles involved, the participants indicated which roles they may wish to engage and agreed to the forward roadmap.
Next step is that we will start the group meetings based on the self-identified roles. During the ongoing group meetings, we will dive deeper into each area of interests. Those group meetings are open to all so if you weren’t at the workshop and/or you wish to participate in multiple group meetings, you will always find a place at Impact Hub. The main aim is to keep the dialogues going and start to define a financially viable business and impact model for Waikato region.
In the meantime, we will continue the discussions with other stakeholders such as Christchurch and Rotorua as they will be working on their version of Impact Hub. The ultimate goal will be setting up a national Impact Hub to drive the systematic changes in New Zealand.
We are looking forward to hearing from you and please get in touch anytime for a coffee and/or chat. You will always find your place at Impact Hub.
