Nutrient and Soil Balancing as a service

During our development of the NP sensor concept, we have encountered the complexity of working with soil a few times.  Soil is one of the really complex environments that we do not fully understand, or have full knowledge of.  This theme has cropped up more than a few times during the last few years.  The first issue that makes soil complex is the large number of different soil types that exists.  Each soil type has different chemical compositions, with different physical structure, which means that the fauna and flora found in soils differs dramatically.  This in turn have an effect on how soils perform (which can change over time).  If you add the necessity of intensive modern farming and the changing weather landscape, you arrive at a very complex problem that farmers need to solve. These arguments were powerful design factors when we developed the sensor, having to make sure that we have a sensor and ancillary equipment which can be adjusted to the needs of a specific environment.  We have found that almost every answer to a question started with “it depends….”.  As confusing as this sounds, it did provide us with a rich learning environment that made us think about every aspect of NP sensing.  We have been approached by a number of companies for solutions in this area, and I am proud to say that we have been able to identify the key issues in every circumstance, and provide a sound scientific solution in each instance.  This in contrast to a “selling a sensor off the shelf” pathway, but rather a thoughtful and responsible intervention in a complex area of measurement.  We have been able to capture the real issues in methods that is scientifically sound and produce real world results.

Protecting our environment whilst being economically successful are two powerful drivers for the work we do, and we invite like-minded environments to collaborate with us.
